This class is designed to be interactive and fun. Two to three wines will be tasted at each class, and each participant will receive a bound course guide.
Instructor Bio:Tom Hansen owned the popular wine shop Market Wines, as well as Meritage Wine Bar, both in downtown Portland. For two years he wrote the “Wineguy” column in the Wednesday Food section of the Portland Press Herald, and was well-known throughout the area for his regular TV appearances on WCSH News at 5:30 and the local cooking show “The Maine Dish”. He has taught wine appreciation classes throughout southern Maine and has organized large wine events for several charitable organizations in the area including the popular Harvest On the Harbor.
For three years he was the Fine Wine Buyer for all 250 Hannaford stores throughout New England, where he organized in-store wine tastings, a Wine Of The Month program, and personally selected wines for their “Limited Reserve” section in most stores. He was also the East coast sales manager for an organic wine importer, now located in France.
