The goal of this program is to engage and prepare youth to become active in our environment. We would like to educate youth about their surrounding environment and encourage them to see the beauty in nature. Students will examine and identify plants, birds, insects, and other wildlife! We will be exploring a different trail or area around Kennebunk and surrounding communities each week! After each outing, we will encourage students to keep a journal and to log their sightings for the day. Participants will also receive their own pair of binoculars to catch a better glimpse of the natural world around them, which they will get to take home with them at the end of the program!

Program Information
  • Please make sure to dress/send your child with appropriate clothing as the majority of the program will be spent outdoors.
  • Participants will leave directly from Sea Road School and KES with a member of Parks & Recreation Department.
  • It is recommended to send your child with extra snacks and water for the duration of the program.
  • Please note that parent pick-up is at Dot Stevens Community Center.
