Join Mousam River STEM Academy for an after-school STEM series called:

“STEM Detectives: Solve the Mystery!”

In this crime-solving themed program, students will step into the shoes of forensic scientists and engineers to uncover clues and crack the case. Each session presents a hands-on mystery to solve using STEM tools and creative thinking:

Session 1: Fingerprint Forensics – Learn how to dust for and analyze fingerprints to identify suspects.
Session 2: Secret Codes & Ciphers – Use math and logic to break secret messages and uncover hidden information.
Session 3: Chromatography Clue Hunt – Separate colors in ink samples to match notes to the culprit.
Session 4: Build a Burglar Alarm – Design and wire a simple motion-triggered alarm system to protect your lab!

This interactive and exciting series builds problem-solving and critical thinking skills while making STEM feel like a real-life adventure. Perfect for curious minds who love puzzles, mysteries, and science!

Program Information
  • Participants will leave for Mousam River Stem Academy promptly and directly from KES and SRS with a member of the Parks & Recreation Department.
  • 4:30pm parent pick-up will be at Mousam River Stem Academy: 1013 Old North Berwick Rd, Alfred, ME 04002
